Class Styles
Little Warriors
Our Little Warriors classes is a specialised martial art aimed at younger children (3-7 year olds). The lessons cover a variety of topics including self-defense, stranger danger, and how to deal with bullies.
The classes are 30 minutes long and are a mixture of fitness, technique and game-orientated learning.
Students are invited to grade twice a year as a chance to show what they have been learning and track their own progress.
Japanese Jujitsu
Japanese Jujitsu is an ancient martial art based around 5 principals: Balance, Redirection, Ki, Circles and Water.
The style of Japanese Jujitsu we study at Martial Arts Queensland is called Ronin Ryu Jujitsu loosely translated to School of the Masterless Warrior.
Within Japanese Jujitsu we focus on self defence not on competition or sporting aspects like a lot of martial arts.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
BJJ and No-Gi BJJ are combat sports that focus on grappling and especially ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. MAQLD runs classes in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and No-Gi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for adults and for kids..
Whether you are looking for an interesting and social way to get fit, would like to test your skills at a tournament one day our highly experienced coaches and team have the knowledge and resources to help you reach your goals.
Kickboxing
We have three types of programs within our academy that cater to all levels, age and goals. Our Kids Kickboxing Classes are aimed at children ages between 7 – 12. While our Teenagers class is aimed at training children 13 – 17 while also giving them the option of moving into the adults classes as well at the age of 15.
Our Adults classes are split into two types, Beginner and intermediate classes. Beginner classes focus largely on the fundamentals of kickboxing and incorporate a range of fitness challenges, new techniques and pad work. Whilst intermediate classes cover more advanced topics
